Home / Trade / Logistics & terms

Clear terms, from port to plant.

How we ship, which Incoterms we use, and how payment by documentary letter of credit works.

Incoterms 2020

Who carries the cost and risk

We quote on the term that fits the buyer — the transfer point is always written into the contract.

FOB

Free on board

Buyer charters the vessel; risk passes when cargo is loaded.

CFR

Cost & freight

We arrange the vessel to the buyer's port; risk passes at loading.

CIF

Cost, insurance & freight

As CFR, with marine insurance arranged for the buyer.

DAP

Delivered at place

Delivered to the named site, ready for unloading.

Payment

How a documentary LC works

The buyer's bank pays the seller only when the agreed documents are presented. Neither side carries the other's risk.

  1. Contract

Sales contract signed directly between buyer and seller.

  2. LC opened

Buyer's bank issues an irrevocable LC in favour of the seller.

  3. Loading

Cargo loaded and inspected; documents issued.

  4. Presentation

Seller presents the document set to the bank.

  5. Payment

Bank pays at sight against compliant documents.
